About the Dare2Dream Foundation
At the Dare2Dream Foundation, we offer alternative therapeutic education support for children and young people who are unable to access education for a variety of reasons.
Since 2013, we have helped thousands of children and young people access and engage with education through:
Trained experts
Our team of over 150 practitioners are trained to support children and young people aged 4-25 years who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) or with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
Our vision is a generation of resilient young people that will have the confidence and self-belief to flourish in everyday life whilst achieving their dreams.

Who we work with
We work in partnership with families, schools, and local authorities. This includes SEND teams, children’s services, NEET teams and virtual schools. We also accept referrals from NHS and other health and social care providers.
The young people we support will often have an education, health and care (EHC) plan but that isn’t essential for accessing our services.
What we do
We support children and young people aged 4 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH).
What are special educational needs?
Special educational needs is usually abbreviated to SEN or SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) and can include diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, and PDA.
What is SEMH?
SEMH stands for social, emotional and mental health. The term is used when people have difficulties managing their emotions, behaviour and wellbeing, making learning difficult for them. It can include anxiety, depression, trauma, separation anxiety and self harm, and could be caused by adverse childhood experiences.
What’s alternative therapeutic education?
Alternative therapeutic education is designed to help children and young people who have SEN or SEMH needs that can’t be accommodated in traditional mainstream settings.
Specialist providers are often better equipped to offer therapeutic intervention, social interaction, skills development, safeguarding and education that some children and young people need to thrive.
