Bespoke one to one outreach
Our one to one outreach support is designed for young people aged 4-25 with social, emotional and mental health challenges, or with SEND needs that are not being effectively met elsewhere.
Our child-centred holistic approach allows us to assess the needs of each individual and develop a bespoke programme of support.
Our approach
- 1:1 specialist support
- Person-centred and holistic
- Therapeutic support for SEMH
- Trauma-informed
- Targeted learning support
At the heart of our intervention is the development of emotional intelligence and literacy, key to addressing barriers such as trauma, anxiety, and social difficulties. This applies to both our one to one support, and post 16 packages.
Our support includes:
- SEN-specific strategies for neurodivergent young people with diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD and others
- Trauma-informed approaches to social, emotional and mental wellbeing support
- Alternative therapies such as play therapy, ecotherapy and mentoring
- Support to improve peer and staff relationships
- Structured, personalised curricula where appropriate
- Regular assessment of needs and progress using Boxall Profile
- Attendance and engagement strategies
- Flexible delivery at school, in the home, or at one of our community venues
More about our
one to one support
How long do sessions last?
Session times vary depending on what a young person can manage. We often build up from shorter sessions to longer sessions of 3 hours as the young person progresses.
Sessions take place in the morning or afternoon, and we will agree a number of sessions per week with you.
What activities take place during sessions?
Our highly skilled staff will assess the needs of a young person and develop activities to re-engage them with learning. The goal is to ensure activities are meaningful, engaging, and accessible, supporting both their education and personal development.
Examples of activities include:
• Art and crafts
• Sport and play
• STEM
• Music
• Outdoor projects
Each term the Practitioner will agree specific goals with the child or young person. These goals serve as stepping stones towards our longer-term aims of re-engaging with education and enhancing social emotional wellbeing.
Where do sessions take place?
Support is delivered in the community or another safe space whether that’s at school, home or a Dare2Dream venue. The location will depend on the needs of the young person and will change over time as they progress with our support.
Community-based activities and visits may also take place as appropriate but the young person’s safety is always our priority.
How long will the support be available?
We can support a child or young person for as long as it is required. Our practitioners will regularly assess progress and will discuss this with families and other people responsible for the young person’s education, whether that’s the school or the local authority.
